Time Marches On

I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted,, things are going well with Steven, he's had some stress and issues but is working through them. I'm proud of him, he entered a talent contest, I hope he does well. It will be a great experience for him no matter what. I still concerned with some of those stationed with him, I don't trust them to have his back, they just aren't reliable in my opinion.

I can tell talking to him he is maturing, he sounds older, more mature, and we are getting along better when we talk. He still wears his heart on his sleeve, probably always will, at least he has a good heart!

A Month Already!

Holy Cow,, a month go tomorrow Steven left for Afghanistan,, I just can't believe how long it has been already. I guess being able to be in contact with him really helps, I'm still worried, I still have slight panic attacks when I see something in the news, but I know he's safe and he's doing good. He is handling his job well, and I'm very proud of him.
Our family has been through a lot in this month, his Grandpa has had serious health issues and been treated horrible by the VA. The military has really let the veterans down, I worry about his after-care now. I quit my job to help take care of him, get my head on straight, and deal with my dad's health, my son's deployment, and everything else going on around here.
Hopefully with the wonderful care his grandpa is now getting at Sierra Medical, a civilian hospital in El Paso, he can relax and not worry too much. Visiting with Steven on Skype has really lifted his grandpa's spirits,, and now with Steven's cousin Ricky, the Navy Baby I refer to, home on leave, he has good reason to get better and come home.
